The CBR Program Steering Committee approved the Ministry of Commerce and Industry CBR-P and assessed the recruitment process.

The 32th Steering Committee meeting of the Capacity Building for Results Program was held today under the chairmanship of H.E Eklil Hakimi the Minister of Finance of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. The meeting was attended by members of the steering and advisory committees.

Dr. Najibullah Wardak, Director of the CBR Program at the MoF, presented the recruitment process report and said that, under the status quo, the recruitment of 751 posts has been finalized in 35 administrations and the efforts are undertaken to accomplish the recruitment of 800 posts – according to the initial target – until the end of December, 2016. Mr. Wardak added that, the recruitment process is accelerated – he appreciated the significant work carried out by the team members in the recruitment process - the Steering Committee also recognized the recent achievements of the CBR Program.

Moreover, according to the meeting agenda, officials of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry presented their CBR Proposal to the committee, and proposed 200 Tashkil positions for approval. After deep discussions amongst the members of the Steering Committee, the CBR-P of the MoCI was approved and to commence the work with 80 position in the initial step. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is obliged to submit quarterly reports to the Program Secretariat.

Furthermore, the CBR-P of the Ministry of Counter Narcotics was presented to the meeting, and was postponed to the next Steering Committee meeting due to lack of clarity in the Job Descriptions.

Lastly, a dedicated framework for the engagement of the contractual staff (Hired under the development projects) in the government structure was also presented to the committee which was approved.
